Wastewater Utility Worker

HKA is working on behalf of Jacobs and this role is to support Jacobs’ work through HKA.

Responsibilities:

Install , Operate , Maintain and repair water distribution infrastructure including water mains, service lines, hydrants , valves , PRVs and meters ; establishes and maintains effective sample procedures for water lines ; Diagnose system operating problems , Performs necessary corrective and remedial activities.

• Performs routine servicing and corrective maintenance of water and wastewater systems.
• Cleans vehicles, heavy equipment, pumps, tools and other stationary and potable equipment.
• Performs routine inspection of vehicles and equipment.
• Operates and maintains vehicles, equipment and tools required to load, unload, haul, and spread sand, gravel, dirt and/or waste products, digs, refills ditches and trenches.
• Maintains grounds and buildings; cuts grass, weeds and brush; trims trees and bushes; rakes grass; leaves and trash, seeds and cares for lawn and ornamental plantings.
• Understands and carries out oral and written directions.
• Works safely and adheres to establish safety procedures
• Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work.
• Ability to carry and respond to pages as requested by management.
• Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner.
• Preforms other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid Driver’s license – State of New Mexico - This role does not require a CDL
• Someone with some construction or water Utility experience will be a plus
